Shin-Etsu KE-4898 is a one-component, condensation-cure (de-alcohol type), thixotropic RTV silicone adhesive/sealant in white or translucent. It features low odor, neutral (non-corrosive) cure, and exhibits excellent unprimed adhesion to various substrates.

KE-4898 cures at room temperature upon exposure to moisture into a tough, durable elastomer. It provides excellent unprimed adhesion to metals, plastics, glass and ceramics, and is designed for bonding and sealing applications in electronic and electrical equipment requiring electrical insulation and moisture resistance.
This product is a thixotropic non-slump paste suitable for vertical and groove applications. Low-molecular-weight siloxane stripped to minimize contamination of sensitive electronics. It offers dielectric strength of 25 kV/mm and service temperature from -40°C to +180°C, with tack-free time ~6 min and full cure in 7 days @ 23°C/50% RH. Requires cold storage.
Typical applications include form-in-place gasketing (FIPG) for electronic enclosures, moisture/dust sealing of PCBs and electronic components, sealing of power supply modules and connectors, bonding/sealing of sensors and indicator lamps, and insulation protection of internal control units in household appliances.
