24g Waxed Paper Versatile Medium Weight for Printing and Industrial Interleaving
24 g/㎡ waxed paper is one of the most common and versatile grades, balancing strength, printability, and economic material use. It excels in industrial interleaving (between metal plates, glass sheets, or precision hardware), printed food packaging (cake boxes, tea packaging), and gift wrapping. The high-gloss surface accepts flexographic and offset printing with excellent ink holdout.

24g waxed paper uses a balanced mix of softwood and hardwood bleached sulfate pulp to optimize both strength and surface smoothness. The pulp undergoes high viscosity refining to enhance fiber bonding. Heavy sizing (rosin + alum or AKD) creates a robust grease/water barrier. Paper is formed on a high-speed thin paper machine, then supercalendered on a multi-roll stack at controlled temperature (80-100°C) and pressure (150-250 kN/m) to achieve uniform gloss across the entire web width.
- Metal Sheet Interleaving – Placed between stainless steel, aluminum, or copper sheets to prevent scratching and corrosion.
- Glass Sheet Protection – Prevents surface damage during stacking and shipping.
- Tea Packaging – Inner wrap for tea cakes and loose leaf; breathable and moisture-resistant.
- Offset Printing – Smooth gloss surface for restaurant menus, product labels, and promotional flyers.
24g is the industry workhorse – versatile enough for both industrial protection and high-quality printing applications.
