Designed for applications requiring minimal basis weight without sacrificing barrier performance, 30 g/㎡ glassine paper achieves a density of ≥1.00 g/cm³ through intensive supercalendering. With transparency of approximately 55% (estimated), it serves as an economical release liner for low-adhesion tapes, light-duty die-cutting, and interleaving for delicate components. Made from 100% bleached sulfate wood pulp, it is free of fluorescent agents and fully biodegradable.

Process Introduction

30g glassine paper starts with 70-80% softwood and 20-30% hardwood bleached sulfate pulp, beaten to high fibrillation (softwood 22-30°SR, hardwood 22-26°SR). AKD sizing (1.5-2.0%) and cationic starch (0.8-1.0%) are added. Web forming at 0.5-1.0% consistency, pressed to 40-45% dryness, pre-dried to 7-8% moisture. Surface sizing with 4% PVA at 15-20 kg/ton. Supercalendered with 10-12 alternating steel and fiber rolls at 80-120°C, 300-500 kN/m, achieving density ≥1.00 g/cm³ and smoothness ≥600s. Moisture balanced for 24-48 hours, then slit.
