Oil Air Slip Crystalizer for Aluminum Billet Casting
The oil-air slip crystallizer is a core component for modern hot-top semi-continuous aluminum billet casting. This advanced system features independent oil and air channels that deliver precisely metered lubricant and compressed air through porous graphite rings.
This creates a stable oil-air film between molten aluminum and the inner mould wall, effectively isolating direct metal-graphite contact, lowering primary cooling intensity, and reducing friction during the casting process.
During operation, molten aluminum flows into the crystallizer cavity where it forms a thin initial solid shell under primary cooling. As the billet descends, circulating cooling water performs secondary intensive cooling to ensure complete solidification.
- Independent oil and air channels for precise lubrication control
- Porous graphite rings distribute oil-air mixture evenly
- Stable film formation between aluminum and mould wall
