S50C is also a normal steel grade with wide application. It is close to S45C carbon steel, both in properties or in applications. Just customers in different area have different habit of S45C or S50C. Further, the cost and price for both S45C and S50C steels are slight different. You could just choose either for your own applications.
Application range of S50C Carbon Steel Materials
JIS S50C grade carbon steel is widely used in strong supporting structure of machinery manufacturing, good mechanical properties of this steel.
S50C carbon steel are generally use to make strong supporting mechanical parts, such as: spring, gear, tension bar, the roller, the axis, the load spindle and so on.

c,Tempering must be quenched to avoid the occurrence of temper brittleness.
