4J6 Fe-Ni-Cr Glass Sealed Alloy Plate

4J6 is a typical glass sealing alloy, the coefficient of expansion is similar to the soft glass in the temperature range of 20~400℃. The alloy contains 6% chromium, and after oxidation treatment the alloy surface produces a very dense oxide membrane that is strongly bound to the substrate and well infiltrated with the soft glass, so that can get high strength sealing surface.

The alloy is an important sealing structure material in the electric vacuum industry, In addition, the alloy contains 42% nickel, that is why the US label is called 42Ni-6Cr (Glass sealing 42-6, UNSK94760).American Carpenter also produced the alloy that called Carpenter 42-6.

Application
