Description

The carbon steel cross is a pipe connection, which is used at the branch pipe of the main pipe. Carbon steel cross tee can be divided into equal diameter and reducing diameter, and the nozzle ends of equal diameter cross tee are the same size. The main pipe nozzle size of reducing cross tee is the same, and the nozzle size of branch pipe is smaller than that of main pipe. Carbon steel cross generally contains a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus and other elements in addition to carbon. Carbon steel can be divided into carbon structural steel, carbon tool steel and free cutting structural steel according to its use. Cross made of different materials will have different structural characteristics. At present, there are two kinds of processes commonly used in the manufacture of carbon steel cross by seamless pipe, i.e. hydraulic bulging and hot pressing.

The hydraulic bulging of carbon steel cross tee is a forming process of expanding branch pipe by axial compensation of metal material. The process is to use a special hydraulic press to inject liquid into the tube blank with the same diameter as the cross tee, and extrude the tube blank through two horizontal side cylinders of the hydraulic press synchronously. The liquid in the tube blank increases with the volume of the tube blank becoming smaller, and the metal material flows along the inner cavity of the die under the double action of the liquid pressure in the side cylinder and the tube blank and expands the branch pipe. The hydroforming process of carbon steel cross tee can be formed in one time with high production efficiency. Due to the large tonnage of the equipment required for the hydraulic bulging process of the cross, it is mainly used for the manufacture of the standard wall thickness cross less than dn400.
