ANSI Customized Cold Pressing ASTM SS316L Pipe Reducer
Description
Stainless steel reducer, also known as reducer, is one of the chemical pipe fittings, which is used to connect two different pipe diameters. The commonly used forming processes are necking pressing, expanding pressing or reducing plus expanding pressing. For some sizes of reducers, stamping can also be used.
Reducing forming is to put the tube blank with the same diameter as the big end of the reducing pipe into the forming die, and the metal moves along the die cavity and shrinks by pressing along the tube blank axial direction.
In addition to using steel pipe as raw material, stainless steel reducer can also be produced by stamping process with steel plate. The shape of the die used for drawing is designed according to the inner surface dimension of the reducing pipe, and the blanking steel plate is formed by stamping and drawing.

The expanding forming of stainless steel reducing pipe refers to using the tube blank which is smaller than the big end diameter of the reducing pipe and expanding along the inner diameter of the tube blank with the internal die.
In the process of necking or expanding, cold pressing or hot pressing is determined according to different materials and diameter changing conditions. Generally, cold pressing should be used as far as possible, but hot pressing should be adopted for severe work hardening caused by multiple diameter changes, wall thickness deviation or alloy steel materials.
