Description
Flat welding flange is a kind of flange used for fillet weld connection of pipeline or vessel. It is an arbitrary flange. According to the integrity degree of the connection between the flange ring and the straight cylinder section, the design is checked according to the integral or loose flange. There are two kinds of flange rings with neck and without neck. Compared with the flange with neck, the structure of flat welding is simple and the material is saved, but the rigidity and sealing performance are not as good as the flange with neck.

Characteristic
Flat welding flange is widely used in the connection of medium and low pressure vessels and pipelines. The flat welding flange for vessel can be divided into type A and type B. The structure of type a flat welding flange is general ring plate, and type B flat welding flange has a short and thick cylinder section besides the ring plate, which has good sealing performance.
Flat welding flange is suitable for the connection of carbon steel pipe with nominal pressure less than 2.5MPa. The sealing surface of flange can be made into smooth type, concave convex type and mortise groove type. Smooth flat welding flange is widely used. Its advantage is that it is cheaper.
