Hot pressed elbow. The most common treatment is quenching. Quenching is a heat treatment method that the elbow is heated above the critical temperature, kept for a period of time, and then quickly put into the quenching agent to make its temperature drop suddenly, and rapidly cool at a speed greater than the critical cooling rate, so as to obtain the unbalanced structure dominated by martensite. Quenching can increase the strength and hardness of steel, but reduce its plasticity. Quenchants commonly used in quenching are water, oil, alkali water and salt solution.

Hot pressed elbow is another treatment method is normalizing. Normalizing is a heat treatment method of heating the hot pressed elbow above the critical temperature, making all the hot pressed elbows transform into uniform austenite, and then cooling naturally in air.
