     Ochratoxins A Strip Test is a qualitative and rapid lateral flow assay designed to detect Ochratoxins A residues in feed ,grain sample. This test is designed for field use or reference lab settings. The unique features of the kit are:

Procedure Overview

The assay uses a competitive colloidal gold based format. The sample is added to the test well to allow the Ochratoxins A binding protein on the gold particles to engage with any Ochratoxins A antibiotic present in the sample. Any gold particles that are not complexed with antibiotics present in the sample will bind to the Ochratoxins A antibiotic imprinted at the Test line (T-line), forming a signal (red line) at that position. If the Ochratoxins A binding protein on the gold particle has engaged with antibiotic present in the sample sample, the gold particle will flow past the T-line and reach the Control line (C-line).

Kit Contents, Storage and Shelf Life

The Ochratoxins A Strip test has the capacity for 40 determinations. The shelf life is 12 months when the kit is properly stored.

Sample preparation

Feed,Grain

1. Grind and mix a representative sample(according to accepted sample techniques)

2. Weight out 2 g of the ground sample and place into a suitable container.

3. Add 3ml Extractant (ethyl acetate)

4. Centrifuger the sample for 5 minutes at 4000 rpm

5. Take 1ml of supernatant layered into a matching 5ml centrifuge tube, blow dry with nitrogen or a hair dryer (part of the yellow grease is a normal phenomenon at the bottom layer), and add 0.3mldilution Buffer to the dried 5ml centrifuge tube, reconstitute the solid residue at the bottom and inner wall of the centrifuge tube. This solution is the liquid to be tested.
