Product Description

10 20 Shore A Platinum Silicone For Soap Mold Soft And Easy To Unmold 1:1 Liquid Silicone Rubber Food Grade

  1. Product description of platinum silicone rubber:

For making handmade soap molds, the most commonly used and highly recommended liquid silicone has a hardness of 15 to 25 Shore A. This hardness range ensures the mold is soft enough for easy demolding while providing sufficient structural support.

 Main feature of platinum silicone:

1. Balanced firmness; holds its shape well.It combines the softness of rubber with sufficient structural support. When pouring heavy soap mixtures or wax, the mold walls won't bulge or deform, ensuring the finished soap has crisp, straight lines.
2. Exceptional detail reproduction.Liquid silicone at this hardness level flows easily—much like water—into even the tiniest crevices of the mold. Whether capturing complex rose petals or delicate lettering, it perfectly replicates intricate textures.
3. Easy demolding without damaging the finished product. To remove the soap, simply fold back the mold edges, and the soap slides out smoothly. Unlike high-hardness silicone that can grip the soap too tightly, this material prevents chipped edges or scratches on delicate embossed patterns.
4. High tear resistance and durability. Generally, softer silicone is more prone to tearing, but the 15–25 Shore A range strikes an ideal mechanical balance. It withstands tearing and handling exceptionally well; the mold resists cracking even with repeated stretching during demolding, allowing for many uses.
5. Easy air bubble release; beginner-friendly. The viscosity is just right, allowing air bubbles created during mixing to rise to the surface and pop on their own. Even without a professional vacuum chamber, simply letting the mixture sit or giving it a gentle tap after stirring ensures a perfect, bubble-free mold.
6.It can be cured at room temperature or by heating.

Special Caution: "Platinum Poisoning"
This constitutes the most sensitive "weak point" of platinum-based systems. Platinum catalysts are extremely susceptible to degradation and deactivation by certain chemical substances, resulting in the adhesive failing to cure—or curing incompletely. This phenomenon is known as "platinum poisoning."

How to make soap molds by using platinum silicone rubber :

When creating molds for handmade soap, candles, or food products, we typically employ a manual mold-making process using Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) silicone. The standard workflow consists of the following six core steps:
1. Master model preparation
2. Precise weighing (mixing ratio)
3. Thorough mixing
4. Vacuum degassing (bubble removal)
5. Casting (pouring into the mold)
6. Curing and demolding
