Warnings & Precautions

Charging

  • Use a Smart Ni-MH Charger: Always use a charger specifically designed for Ni-MH chemistry that features -ΔV (negative delta voltage) detection and temperature monitoring. This is critical to prevent overcharging.

  • Avoid Continuous Trickle Charging: Do not leave these high-capacity cells on a simple, indefinite trickle charger after they are full, as this can cause damage over time.

  • Charge in a Safe Environment: Charge in a well-ventilated area on a non-flammable surface.

Discharging

  • Avoid Deep Discharge: While more tolerant than some chemistries, consistently discharging below 1.0V per cell will shorten lifespan. Use devices with proper low-voltage warnings or cut-offs.

  • Allow Cooling: After heavy use (high current discharge), let the cell cool to near room temperature before recharging.

  • Use in Matched Sets: When using multiple cells in a device, ensure they are of the same brand, model, age, and charge state to prevent imbalance.

 
Storage
