Warnings & Precautions
Charging
- DO NOT GUESS SETTINGS. You MUST obtain the exact Charge Voltage, Charge Current Limit, and Cut-off Voltage from the battery manufacturer or supplier.
- Use a Programmable/Compatible Charger: Only use a smart charger that can be manually and precisely set to the exact voltage specified by the manufacturer. Standard 2S (7.4V/8.4V) presets are NOT SAFE to use.
- Constant Supervision: Never charge unattended. Charge inside a LiPo safety bag on a non-flammable surface in a well-ventilated area.
Discharging
- Device Compatibility: Ensure your device is designed to operate with a 7.16V nominal input. Using it in a device designed for standard 7.4V may lead to poor performance or premature low-voltage cutoff.
- Prevent Over-Discharge: Use a voltage alarm or monitor. Never drain the battery below the manufacturer-specified cut-off voltage. Over-discharge permanently damages cells.
- Temperature & Current Monitoring: Do not exceed the max discharge current (C-rate). If the battery becomes hot during use, stop immediately.
- Physical Inspection: Before each use, inspect for swelling, punctures, or leaks. Discard damaged batteries immediately and safely.
Storage
- Storage Voltage: For long-term storage, maintain the battery at the manufacturer-recommended storage voltage (typically ~50% state of charge).
- Safe Transport: Always transport with terminals taped or capped, placed in a LiPo safety bag.
- Responsible Disposal: Recycle at a designated battery recycling center. Do not dispose of in household waste.
