Known as the swing gearbox in construction machinery fields, an excavator’s swing reducer is a vital transmission module that links the slewing motor to the large slewing gear ring. Its main roles are speed reduction and torque amplification, enabling the upper superstructure to rotate smoothly through 360 degrees without interruption.
Key Structural Components
Sun Gear: Coupled to the slewing motor’s splines to receive high‑speed power input.
Planet Gears: Each stage consists of 3 to 4 gears, orbiting and spinning around the sun gear to transfer torque.
