Product Description
Excavator Machinery Parts Pc200-8 Pc220-7 Excavator Swing Motor Gearbox Excavator Reduction Excavator
The excavator swing reducer (also known as swing gear reducer) is the core transmission component of the excavator swing mechanism. It adopts a multi-stage planetary gear structure, which converts the high-speed and low-torque output of the swing motor into low-speed and high-torque power to drive the rotation of the upper platform, and integrates braking and load-bearing functions at the same time.
Working Principle and Operation Process
1. Power Input
Operate the slewing handle, and hydraulic oil enters the slewing motor, causing the motor to rotate at a high speed (with high rotational speed but low torque).
2. Multi-stage Deceleration and Torque Increase of Planetary Gears
The slewing motor drives the first-stage sun gear to rotate at a high speed:
• The sun gear drives the surrounding planetary gears to revolve around it.
• The ring gear is fixed, and the planet carrier is driven at a reduced speed.
• Deceleration is performed sequentially through 2 to 3 stages of planetary gears.
• The rotational speed becomes slower and slower, and the torque increases exponentially.
Principle Mnemonic: Small gears drive large gears to reduce rotational speed and increase torque.
3. Driving the Slewing Turntable
The low-speed and high-torque power after deceleration drives the output pinion at the bottom of the reducer. The pinion meshes with the large gear ring of the slewing bearing, directly driving the upper structure of the excavator to rotate smoothly 360 degrees.
4. Braking Principle (Key Point)
During rotation: Hydraulic oil is supplied to the brake to push the brake pads apart, release the brake, and allow free rotation;
When the handle is released: Hydraulic pressure is relieved, the spring compresses the friction plates, locks the input shaft of the reducer, and the platform stops immediately without inertial rotation or slipping.

Common Faults and Causes
Abnormal noise / Stuttering: Gear wear / pitting corrosion, bearing damage, insufficient oil / dirty oil, abnormal meshing clearance.
Oil leakage: Oil seal aging, housing cracks, excessive oil level, breather valve blockage.
Weak slewing / Slow slewing: Gear / bearing wear, brake failure to release, motor internal leakage, mismatched speed ratio.
Overheating: Insufficient oil / oil deterioration, overload, brake dragging, poor heat dissipation.
Gear jumping / Broken gear teeth: Impact load, foreign matter entry, fatigue wear, installation misalignment.
