Excavator Joystick Lever PC200-6 PC60-7 PC120-6 PC130-7 Steel Plate Control Stick Excavator Machinery
Essentially a hydraulic pilot proportional control valve, the excavator joystick cannot directly drive machine movements. It outputs pilot control oil to trigger the main multi‑way valve, which in turn governs the velocity and direction of excavator actions. Situated on both sides of the cabin, the control lever—alternatively named pilot lever, hydraulic handle or joystick—is the central operating part for all excavator functions, comparable to the machine’s “steering wheel and moving limbs”.
Working Approach
Operators manipulate all excavator movements by moving the joystick multidirectionally:
- Main arm boom lifting
- Secondary arm stick extending and retracting
- Bucket opening and clamping
- Left‑right slewing of the cab assembly
- Cooperative use with foot pedal valves for travel functions
Working Mechanism
A hydraulic pilot valve is embedded inside each control handle:
- Handle manipulation pushes the internal spool
- Low‑pressure hydraulic signal is output
- Main hydraulic multi‑way valve is regulated
- Cylinders and motors perform directional, variable‑speed actions
Proportional Speed Adjustment
Increased handle deflection enlarges spool opening → boosts pilot oil pressure → opens the main valve further → accelerates boom, stick, bucket and slewing operations. When released, reset springs pull the handle and spool back to center, disconnecting the pilot oil path, discharging pressure, resetting the main valve, and stopping movements immediately.
