Function
Engine-powered main hydraulic pump supplies high-pressure oil for all executive hydraulic motors of excavator and works as the core hydraulic power origin.
Type
Axial variable piston pump, integrated double pump for mid-large excavators, rear pilot pump attached: main pump 28~35MPa, pilot pump 3~4MPa for pilot control circuit.
Structure
Cylinder block with piston set, angle-adjustable swash plate, side flow regulator and separating valve plate compose complete pump unit; regulator alters swash angle to control displacement, flow speed and fuel consumption.
Three Control Logic
Constant power lowers displacement under heavy load to avoid engine stall; LS outputs flow on demand to cut idle fuel cost; pressure cutoff limits displacement to minimum for overpressure protection.
Regular Defects
Inner leakage or jammed regulator → slow machine performance; fixed large displacement → overload & black smoke; severe leakage → high oil temperature; air ingress / oil shortage → abnormal pump sound.
Maintenance
Periodic oil & filter replacement, airtight suction line and standard oil level ensure stable pump performance.
