Core Function
Driven by engine, hydraulic main pump converts mechanical energy into high-pressure hydraulic energy to power all hydraulic actuators including boom, arm, bucket, travel and swing motors of excavator.
Product Type
Axial variable piston pump is standard configuration; medium & large excavator adopts tandem double main pump with rear integrated pilot gear pump. Main pump:28~35MPa, pilot pump:3~4MPa for pilot control system.
Structural Composition
Rotating piston-cylinder assembly, adjustable swash plate, hydraulic regulator and split-flow valve plate compose pump assembly. Regulator adjusts swash angle to change flow rate and fuel consumption.
Three Core Control Technologies
Constant power matching avoids engine overload stall; load sensing realizes energy-saving on-demand oil supply; pressure cutoff prevents pipe & cylinder burst at overpressure.
Common Malfunctions
Component wear leakage or stuck regulator leads to slow operation; locked large displacement causes engine smoking and overload; heavy inner leakage triggers high oil temperature; air ingress generates abnormal pump sound.
