The hydraulic main pump functions as the fundamental power unit of excavator hydraulic systems. It receives mechanical driving force from the engine and converts rotational mechanical energy into high-pressure hydraulic energy to actuate boom, arm, bucket, travel and swing hydraulic actuators. The mainstream configuration adopts axial variable displacement piston pump structure. Medium and large excavator equipment adopts integrated dual-pump assembly with auxiliary pilot gear pump mounted at the rear end, providing 28~35MPa main circuit pressure and 3~4MPa pilot control pressure. The overall pump structure comprises cylinder block piston assembly, variable-angle swash plate, hydraulic regulating device and flow distribution valve plate, achieving adjustable displacement, flow output and fuel consumption. The integration of constant power regulation, load sensing flow matching and pressure cutoff protection ensures operational stability, energy efficiency and overpressure protection. Typical equipment failures result from internal leakage or regulator jamming, fixed maximum displacement output, excessive hydraulic leakage and pipeline air ingestion, which can be effectively controlled through standardized maintenance procedures.
