The excavator hydraulic main pump is a key energy conversion device that transfers engine mechanical power into usable high-pressure hydraulic power for all machine hydraulic actuators. It supports the full range of excavator movements, including boom, arm, bucket, travel and swing operations. The mainstream structural form is the axial variable piston pump, with medium and large excavators adopting integrated dual main pump units paired with rear pilot pumps. The main hydraulic circuit operates at 28~35MPa for power output, while the 3~4MPa pilot circuit serves the entire control system. The core working components cover piston and cylinder block assembly, angle-adjustable swash plate, hydraulic regulator and flow distribution valve plate, which work together to change pump displacement, adjust oil flow and control fuel consumption. Three classic hydraulic control logics, namely constant power control, load sensing control and pressure cut-off control, ensure engine safety, energy-saving operation and hydraulic system protection. Common mechanical faults stem from internal leakage, regulator jamming, long-term overload operation and pipeline air ingress, which can be effectively mitigated through scientific and standardized daily maintenance routines.
