The travel motor, alternatively referred to as final drive or travel reduction assembly, serves as the key power unit for an excavator’s undercarriage travel system. It features an integrated design combining a hydraulic motor and a three-stage planetary gear reduction unit. Every excavator is fitted with one unit on the left and another on the right, each independently powering its respective track to enable travel functions including forward, reverse, steering and hill climbing.
