Product Overview

This series ferritic stainless solid shafts are manufactured via hot rolling + cold drawing forming, then fully air-annealed to obtain uniform single ferritic microstructure. Without expensive nickel element, the raw material cost is greatly reduced compared to nickel-bearing stainless steel.

Four grades cover diverse industrial working scenarios: Low-chromium Ti-stabilized 409 is dedicated to automobile exhaust high-temperature spindles; standard 430 for household appliances and decorative rotating parts; Ti-alloyed 439 avoids sensitization after long thermal cycles for furnace equipment; Mo-added 444 solves freshwater chloride pitting problems. Ferritic shafts never generate SCC failure in hot salt water, a key advantage over austenitic stainless steel. Widely machined into exhaust spindles, heat exchanger rods, water heater shafts and light mechanical transmission blanks for auto, HVAC, solar and household appliance industries.

Material Grade Characteristics
409 (UNS S40900)

Low chromium titanium stabilized ferritic steel, outstanding high-temperature oxidation resistance, excellent thermal fatigue performance, low price, ideal muffler and EGR tubular spindle blanks for vehicle exhaust systems.

430 (UNS S43000 / 1.4016)

17Cr universal ferritic grade, stable in atmospheric & dry environments, good polishing property, suitable kitchen equipment, decorative support shafts and low-load mechanical spindles.

439 (UNS S43035 / 1.4510)

Titanium added to bind free carbon, completely avoid intergranular corrosion after welding; better ductility than 430, perfect furnace roller shafts and heat circulation equipment spindles.

444 (UNS S44400)

Molybdenum & dual stabilized ferritic stainless steel, high PRE value, remarkable anti-pitting performance in tap water & low-concentration brine, substitute 316L for solar heat exchanger shafts and desalination small spindles.
