2: Custom compression rubber parts:

Provide a drawing or reference sample with critical dimensions, tolerances, sealing faces and allowable flash. Identify the mating component and the required assembly fit.
For NBR parts, specify the oil or fluid formulation, operating temperature, contact duration and any compression or movement. Agree the compound and nominal Shore A hardness with permitted tolerance.
Define compression-set, tensile or wear acceptance criteria where relevant to the duty.
For parts bonded to metal or plastic inserts, specify the insert material, bonding area and retention test separately.Approve a sample against the drawing and compound requirements before production. An NBR material designation alone does not establish a pressure rating or suitability for every oil formulation.
