OEM rubber O-rings can be specified by inside diameter, cross-section, compound, hardness and color, with packaging details agreed for the order. Provide a controlled drawing or identified sample for custom sizes. Color and packing help identify parts but do not establish the rubber specification or application suitability.
 
For an OEM sealing application, confirm the fluid, temperature, pressure and whether the seal is static or moving. Select NBR, HNBR, FKM, EPDM or silicone for the actual service and review the groove dimensions with the required O-ring size. Performance limits depend on the agreed compound and assembly.

OEM O-Rings: Custom Size, Color and Packaging Specification

For custom sizes, send the drawing revision, inside diameter, cross-section and dimensional tolerances with the required compound and Shore A hardness. Identify any sample-approval requirements before production.

Specify the requested color and whether it is used for assembly identification. Keep the material and size on the label because visually similar rings can have different compounds or dimensions.

For OEM packing, state the quantity per bag or carton and the required part number, size and compound identification. Provide artwork and packing instructions for review, with each size listed separately on the order.
