Confirm whether the original seal is all rubber or includes a brass or stainless steel back-up. Match the backing geometry and material to the approved union configuration. Do not substitute a lip seal for an O-ring solely because the nominal size matches.

Include the process fluid, operating temperature and any special service requirements in the inquiry. NBR, HNBR and FKM identify material families; the final compound, hardness and assembly pressure limit must be confirmed for the selected part.
