Hammer Union Replacement by Figure, Size and Seal Construction

This range presents rubber-only hammer union seals and seals with brass or stainless steel backup rings. Identify the union figure and nominal connection size, then confirm the seal OD, ID, height, lip geometry and insert dimensions against the mating pocket. The listed 1 inch and 1-1/2 inch FIG 1502, 3 inch FIG 602/1502 and 4 inch FIG 602/1002/1502 references require individual drawing confirmation.

The FIG 206 references list AS568-228, AS568-236 and AS568-346 for 2, 3 and 4 inch connections respectively. Verify the specified O-ring dimensions against the equipment drawing before purchase; a nominal union size is not the seal diameter. A lip seal and an O-ring are different constructions and must not be substituted by size label alone.

Send the replacement drawing or sample, selected rubber compound, hardness, backup-ring material and quantity. For metal-backed seals, include insert dimensions and any bonding requirements. Agree inspection and leakage-test requirements for the complete assembly; a figure number or polymer family does not establish a pressure or sour-service rating.
