Stainless-Backed Hammer Union Seal Introduction
Shanghai Qinuo supplies hammer union seal enquiries with stainless steel backup-ring construction and NBR, FKM or HNBR rubber options. Select the stainless insert grade and seal geometry against the union drawing, fluid exposure and operating cycle. Confirm the actual rubber-to-metal construction before specifying a replacement.
Product Specification
1. Pressure specification: Provide working pressure, transient peaks, temperature and pressure direction. The complete union assembly and selected seal design require qualification; a figure designation is not a standalone seal pressure rating.
2. Compound selection: Provide fluid composition, additives, cleaning chemicals and exposure duration. Review NBR, HNBR or FKM compound data against those conditions; polymer family alone does not establish chemical or sour-service suitability.
3. Installation fit: Confirm seal dimensions, lip orientation, mating surfaces and any brass or stainless steel backup ring against the equipment drawing. Follow the assembly installation procedure.
4. OEM dimensions: Send seal OD, ID, axial height, section profile and dimensional tolerances, together with nominal union size and figure. Include insert geometry and hardness where applicable.
5. Inspection requirements: Agree dimensional, material and leakage-test acceptance criteria for the selected design. Verify the complete assembly before service; no blanket pressure or leakage guarantee is implied.
Stainless Backup-Ring Grade and Interface Selection
For the stainless-backed option, specify the insert grade, OD, ID, thickness and edge profile with the rubber seal drawing. Include the required surface finish and any rubber-to-metal bonding specification. Stainless steel is a material family; fluid composition, cleaning agents and exposure temperature must be reviewed for the selected grade.
Identify the union figure, nominal size and mating seal-pocket dimensions. Include pressure cycles, temperature and fluid additives when comparing NBR, FKM and HNBR compounds. For sour gas or rapid decompression, request compound-specific qualification rather than assuming the rubber name or stainless backing establishes suitability.
The original size and figure list remains below for selection. Confirm the individual profile and inspection dimensions before ordering; the backup ring does not establish the complete union pressure rating. Specify quantities by size, compound and insert grade, with lot identification and inspection documents required for the order. Manufacturing uses an ISO 9001 quality management system.
