Nominal 2-inch hammer union replacement seals are specified in NBR or FKM for the identified oilfield connection. Select the compound separately from the lip profile and any backing configuration. Provide the union manufacturer, figure number and actual seal dimensions before ordering; nominal 2-inch line size is not the ring inside diameter or a guarantee of interchangeable fit.
For an NBR-versus-FKM enquiry, provide the fluid composition and normal and peak operating temperatures with the required Shore A hardness. Confirm material suitability for the actual service rather than selecting on colour. Any sour-gas or H2S application requires compound-specific qualification, and pressure limits must be confirmed for the complete rated union assembly.
