NC, REG, FH and PAC Thread Protectors — Fit, Construction and Removal
Protector specification: connection fit and removal features Specify the full NC, REG, FH or PAC designation, size and pin/box end with the mating drawing. Confirm whether the required protector is PP plastic or a separately specified metal-reinforced design; construction must be agreed before ordering. Include the removal feature, thread engagement and shoulder coverage in the fit sample review. Check that installation and removal work on the actual connection without forcing. Different connection families require separate fit verification.
Construction and fit checks for thread protectors:
1. Match thread coverage to the approved connection drawing
2. Select PP grade for the stated weather and storage exposure
3. Confirm PP or metal-reinforced construction against the approved specification
4. Identify full connection designation and pin/box end on the part
