PP Pin and Box Thread Protectors — EUE Tubing and NC/REG Connection Enquiries
A thread protector is used to protect the threads of a pipe during transportation and storage. Submit EUE tubing and NC or REG drilling connection enquiries as separate line items. Provide the complete designation, size and mating drawing for each pin or box protector; these connection labels are not interchangeable. Specify thread engagement, coverage and removal features, then approve fit samples on the intended connection. Select the PP grade for the stated storage temperature, sunlight exposure and handling conditions. Identify each part clearly when packing mixed connection orders.
Other connection sizes for enquiry: For each enquiry, supply the full thread designation and drawing. EUE tubing, NC and REG drilling connections, and BTC/STC/LTC casing connections require separate geometry and fit checks. Nominal size alone does not establish compatibility.

1. Match pin and box parts to the approved connection drawing
2. PP grade selected for the specified storage and handling environment
3. Plastic construction; any metal reinforcement requires a separate specification
4. Mark complete connection designation, size and pin/box end
5. Check installation and removal on approved fit samples
6. Confirm the applicable thread drawing and acceptance requirements
7. Specify coverage of the thread and shoulder for each end
8. Match protectors to the pipe connection and handling procedure
9. Inspect parts for cracked walls, distorted threads and damaged removal features
10. Reuse only after cleaning and fit inspection; replace damaged protectors
