Product Introduction
Hammer Union Seals are used in the connections between flexible hoses or pipes used in the oil drilling industry. The seal provides a critical fluid tight connection within the union hardware.
Hammer Unions consist of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut that when tightened seal the assembly with the assistance of an elastomeric seal. The seal is lipped to prevent it from falling out when inverted.
Material Introduction
NBR, HNBR and FKM are rubber compound alternatives. PTFE is a thermoplastic needing separate profile and support review. Compare the selected grade with the specified fluid and operating exposure.

3 Inch Oil-Line Union Seal: Confirm the Figure, Recess and Support Ring
This enquiry focuses on a nominal 3 inch oil-line hammer union replacement seal. Identify the union manufacturer and Figure number, then provide the seal recess drawing or approved part dimensions. The nominal line size does not establish seal inner diameter, cross-section or interchangeability between union figures. Other sizes in the range need separate fit confirmation.
For oil transfer or drilling-fluid duty, specify the oil formulation, additives, cleaning fluids, normal temperature and transient peaks. Select NBR, HNBR or FKM by the required compound data.
