Custom Packer Element Expansion and Extrusion Review

For a custom wellbore packer element, provide the run-in diameter, target casing or bore ID, mandrel diameter, element length and setting mechanism. State the required setting stroke and load, differential pressure, fluid composition and exposure time. Review the end support and extrusion clearance with the packer assembly drawing. Radial expansion capability must be assessed together with sealing contact and recovery after release; no expansion ratio is assigned without design and test data.

Technical Parameters:

1 ) Confirm differential pressure, operating temperature and exposure time for the complete packer assembly.

2 ) Agree the acceptance test and traceability requirements for the selected element drawing and compound.

3 ) Supply the element ID, OD, axial length and packer assembly reference for dimensional review.

4 ) If testing at 150ºC (302ºF) is required, agree the test medium, differential pressure, hold time and acceptance criteria before ordering.

5 ) If 30 setting cycles are required, define the setting stroke, load, temperature and leakage criteria in the test plan.

6 ) Confirm custom element dimensions against the tool drawing; cup-size references do not establish packer-element availability.
 

Materials:

 
Choose the elastomer compound for the well fluid, temperature and required setting deformation. Review metal end components or backup parts separately against the tool drawing. Compound selection should consider swelling, compression recovery and gas exposure for the intended service.
