PTFE Hammer Union Seal Ring for Oil and Gas Pipelines
PTFE Hammer Union Seal Rings for Oil and Gas Pipeline Connections
Royal Way®PTFE hammer union seal rings are specified for replacement connections in oil and gas piping assemblies. Match the PTFE grade and finished ring dimensions to the union manufacturer drawing. Review process-fluid and cleaning exposure together with operating temperature and pressure before selecting the construction.

Specify the Pipeline Duty and PTFE Construction Together
Include the union figure, manufacturer, nominal pipe size and drawing revision in the pipeline seal enquiry. Specify finished ring dimensions, profile tolerances and required supporting components. The related rubber and backed-ring references above are separate constructions rather than automatic PTFE replacements.
State the PTFE grade and any specified filler together with process-fluid composition, operating temperature and pressure cycles. Include cleaning or shutdown exposure where relevant. Confirm the service limits of the selected grade and complete union assembly.
Agree dimensional inspection and material documentation for the finished PTFE ring. Where hardness is required, identify the test method in the approved material specification. Plan replacement and acceptance checks using the equipment maintenance procedure and the approved construction.
| Size: | 1" 1.5" 2" 3" 4" 6" 7" |
| Material: | Buna/FKM/HNBR/PTFE |
| Types: | rubber/ rubber+brass back-up/rubber+ss back-up |
Material Introduction
| Material name | Temperature range | Advantage | Deficiency |
| NBR(Buna) | NBR service temperature by approved compound Confirm operating exposure |
1.Presently the most widely used rubber in the seal industry 2.Exceptional balance of good mechanical properties, wear properties, and chemical resistance 3.Resistance to most mineral oils and greases |
don't used with gly-based brake fluids and strong acids |
| HNBR(Hydrogenated Nitrile) | HNBR service temperature by approved compound Confirm operating exposure |
1.Chemical resistance 2.Wider temperature range than standard nitrile 3.High strength material that resists extrusion, abrasion, and wear 4.Water and steam exposure requires compound-specific review 5.H2S exposure requires specific compound qualification 6.Commonly used with petroleum oils and co2 |
don't use with chlorinated hydrocarbons, polar solvents, or strong acids |
| FKM(Fluorocarbon) | FKM service temperature by approved compound Confirm operating exposure |
1.Excellent resistance to higher temperature, petroleum, and gasoline 2.Good chemical resistance, including to refrigerants(R12) 3.Great mechanical properties are retained over a wide temperature range 4.Ammonia exposure requires specific compound compatibility review |
Check compatibility against the specific FKM formulation and complete fluid composition |
| PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) | PTFE service temperature by grade and assembly Confirm operating exposure |
Confirm compatibility for the selected PTFE grade and process fluid | Generally more expensive than other plastics or elastomers, which can be a limitation for cost-sensitive applications. |
PU (Polyurethane) |
PU service temperature by approved grade Confirm operating exposure |
1.Thermoplastic elastomer with higher tensile strength, toughness, and wear resistance
2.Great combination of hardness and elasticity 3.Excellent low temperature flexibility
4.Commonly used in high pesure hydraulic systems where parts are subject to wear
|
Can degrade when exposed to UV light over prolonged periods unless specifically formulated with additives for protection. |
