Precautions for storage of O-ring seals:
- Keep stored seals away from direct sunlight, moisture, ozone sources and heat, without stretching or compression. Apply the selected compound storage requirements.
- Store at least 1m away from heating equipment and separate from acid or alkali substances
- Do not compress during storage to prevent permanent deformation
- Record manufacturing and factory dates on storage bags

Outdoor O-Ring Selection: Ozone Exposure, Fluid Contact and Gland Protection
The listed material is NBR. General-purpose NBR should not be assumed suitable for exposed weather or ozone service. Specify the actual compound and required ozone or weathering evaluation before using the ring in an exposed joint; any improved-resistance compound needs its own supporting data.
Identify direct sunlight, rain, condensation, ozone sources and temperature cycles, together with oil or fuel exposure. EPDM can be considered for appropriate weather-exposed duties, but is not a direct substitute for an NBR oil-service seal. Select the polymer and compound against both environmental and fluid requirements.
Provide the AS568 dash number or nominal inner diameter and cross-section, tolerances and gland geometry. State whether the ring is enclosed or directly exposed, and include assembly stretch and squeeze in the review. Define the required leakage and ageing checks for the assembled joint rather than treating an O-ring material label as a service-life guarantee.
