Review the NBR compound against the exact oil formulation, additives, temperature and exposure time before selecting a seal for an oil-wetted joint.
Select one nominal Shore A hardness and tolerance for the gland. Pressure, clearance, squeeze and motion determine the required seal properties; manufacturing equipment alone does not define hardness.
Available in standard black or custom colors to meet your specific requirements.
Precautions for storage of O-ring seals:
- Keep seals away from direct sunlight, moisture, ozone sources and heat; use the specified storage conditions for the selected compound. Store rings without stretching or compression.
- The O-ring must be stored 1m away from heating equipment and not placed indoors with acid or alkali.
- The O-ring is not allowed to be compressed during storage to avoid permanent deformation.
- Bags storing O-rings must have their manufacturing and factory dates recorded.

Oil-Wetted NBR Joint Review: Swelling, Squeeze and Maintenance
Specify the oil designation and any cleaners that contact the seal. Compare compound compatibility data for swelling and changes in hardness; the NBR family name alone does not establish suitability for every synthetic oil, fuel or additive package.
Provide the AS568 dash number or nominal inner diameter and cross-section, gland depth and width, and mating-part clearance. Identify whether the joint is static or moving, and include pressure peaks and operating temperature when reviewing extrusion control and backup-ring needs.
For maintenance orders, identify the equipment joint and approved compound along with size. A ring removed from service may have swollen or taken compression set, so use the drawing or equipment specification to confirm replacement dimensions rather than measuring the worn ring alone.
