Precautions for storage of O-ring seals

• Avoid placing in direct sunlight, damp areas, and ventilated areas. The suitable temperature for storage is 0-20℃.
• The O-ring must be stored 1m away from heating equipment and not placed indoors with acid or alkali.
• The O-ring is not allowed to be compressed during storage to avoid permanent deformation.
• Bags storing O-rings must have their manufacturing and factory dates recorded.

Oil Resistance

NBR compatibility must be reviewed against the exact lubricant, refrigerant and operating temperature.

High Hardness

Specify the compound hardness and tolerance for the gland; the molding process alone does not define hardness.

Air-Conditioning O-Ring Selection: Refrigerant, Lubricant and Joint Fit

Identify the refrigerant designation and compressor lubricant before selecting the NBR compound. Include additives, cleaning agents and exposure conditions. NBR, HNBR, FKM, EPDM, silicone and fluorosilicone are separate options, not interchangeable approvals for every refrigerant system.

Provide the AS568 dash number or inner diameter and cross-section with tolerances, plus the connection and groove drawing. Record normal and peak pressure, suction and discharge temperatures and start-stop cycling. Review hardness and gland clearance together rather than treating the ring material as a complete pressure rating.

For replacement parts, confirm the dimensions against the joint because a used ring can swell or take a compression set. Approve the compound, assembly lubricant and sample fit together. Identify solid elastomer, coated and encapsulated constructions separately; an encapsulated ring also requires confirmation of the actual jacket polymer.
