Custom O-Ring Ordering: Dimensions, Polymer and Color Code

Specify inner diameter and cross-section in millimetres, or provide the AS568 dash number. Include dimensional tolerances, seal groove dimensions and whether the ring works in a static or moving joint. A worn sample can swell or deform, so confirm replacement dimensions against the mating parts.

NBR, FKM and EPDM are separate material choices. Send the service fluid, cleaning chemicals and normal and peak temperatures for compound selection. Solid PTFE rings, coated rubber rings and encapsulated elastomer rings have different constructions and installation requirements; identify the required construction in the drawing.

A custom color can identify a part number or assembly location, but color alone does not identify polymer or prove fluid compatibility. Specify the color reference, compound designation, hardness, quantity and packaging labels together, and review a sample before repeat orders.
