NBR/HNBR/FKM/FFKM Rubber Elements

Rubber packer elements form the elastomer sealing component within a complete oilfield completion or isolation tool. Review the element geometry, mandrel interface, backup supports and setting method together with the actual service conditions. Pressure and temperature capability depend on the selected compound and complete assembly qualification; material names alone do not establish HPHT or sour-service suitability.

Packer Element Material and Assembly Selection

For replacement quotation, send the tool model, original part reference and drawing or removed sample. Identify element ID, free OD, length, end profile and the mandrel and backup-ring interfaces. Include casing or target bore dimensions, setting method, service fluids, temperature, differential pressure and cycling requirements.

Keep compound identification and hardness with the drawing revision. Review the complete element arrangement before substituting one polymer family for another; a nominal size alone does not specify assembly fit or a pressure rating.

What information is needed for sour or gas-exposed service?

Provide gas composition, liquid phases, exposure temperature, pressure and decompression conditions. Specify the qualification documents and test acceptance criteria required by the application. Confirm compound and complete-tool qualification for the specified service.
