Heavy Duty Hammer Union Lip Seals: Multiple Sizes Available
Product Description
Our heavy duty hammer union lip seals are engineered to provide high-pressure sealing solutions for the oil and gas industry and various industrial pipeline applications. These seals are designed to prevent leaks in hammer union connections, which are frequently used in flowlines, manifolds, and wellhead systems. By utilizing advanced elastomer technology, these lip seals ensure a secure fit and long-lasting performance even under the most extreme mechanical and environmental conditions.
Technical Specifications and Compatibility
These seals are manufactured to meet the dimensional standards of the most common pipeline figures used globally. They are fully compatible with industry-standard connections including Figure 602, Figure 1002, and Figure 1502. We offer a comprehensive range of nominal sizes to fit your specific piping needs, including 1 inch, 2 inch, 3 inch, 4 inch, and 7 inch diameters.
Working Pressure Ratings
The integrity of a pipeline depends on the pressure rating of the seal. Our hammer union seals are built to withstand the following operating pressures:
Figure 602 connections: Up to 6,000 PSI
Figure 1002 connections: Up to 10,000 PSI
Figure 1502 connections: Up to 15,000 PSI
Figure 2002 connections: Up to 20,000 PSI (available in specialized materials)
Material Selection and Temperature Ranges
Choosing the right material is critical for chemical compatibility and thermal endurance. We offer four primary material grades:
NBR (Nitrile Rubber): Ideal for general water, oil, and mud service.
Operating Temperature: -30 degrees Celsius to +100 degrees Celsius (-22 F to +212 F).
HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile): Recommended for high-pressure drilling, crude oil exposure, and environments containing H2S (Sour Gas).
Operating Temperature: -40 degrees Celsius to +150 degrees Celsius (-40 F to +302 F).
FKM (Fluorocarbon): Best for high-temperature applications and aggressive chemical processing.
Operating Temperature: -20 degrees Celsius to +200 degrees Celsius (-4 F to +392 F).
PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene): Often used as a backup ring or in extreme chemical environments where elastomers may fail.
Operating Temperature: -200 degrees Celsius to +250 degrees Celsius.
Key Features and Benefits
Precision Lip Design: The geometry of the lip seal ensures that internal fluid pressure actually helps to energize the seal, creating a tighter bond as pressure increases.
Metal Reinforcement Options: For high-pressure service like the Figure 1502, our seals are available with brass or stainless steel anti-extrusion rings to prevent the rubber from deforming under high flow rates.
Abrasion Resistance: Our elastomer compounds are specifically formulated to resist the wear and tear caused by abrasive drilling mud and fracking fluids.
Chemical Resilience: Designed to resist degradation from hydrocarbons, salts, and acidic stimulation fluids.
Primary Application Scope
These heavy duty seals are widely used in the following sectors:
Hydraulic Fracturing (Fracking): Handling high-pressure fluids during well stimulation.
Acidizing and Cementing: Ensuring leak-proof connections during chemical injection and casing operations.
Oil and Gas Drilling: Used in mud pumps, standpipes, and manifold systems.
Industrial Fluid Transfer: Managing high-pressure water and chemical transport in mining and manufacturing.
Offshore Production: Reliable sealing for marine-based flowlines and production platforms.
Quality and Performance
Every seal we produce undergoes rigorous quality control checks to ensure dimensional accuracy and material consistency. Our products are designed to be interchangeable with standard industrial pipeline components, providing a reliable alternative for maintenance and repair operations without infringing on specific brand trademarks.
