A: A round-section gasket is suitable when the enclosure provides a groove and controlled compression. Compare cross-section, corner radius and closure force with the mating design. A dedicated profile may be preferable for complex edges or where gasket retention is needed.
Q: Will it keep out rain and water?
A: Water ingress depends on the complete enclosure, including gasket squeeze, joints, latch spacing and mating surfaces. Specify the required enclosure test or ingress rating and validate the assembled design; the EPDM material name alone does not establish a rating.
Q: What temperature range does it handle?
A: Provide minimum outdoor temperature, normal operating temperature and short-term peaks. Compound-specific temperature and compression-set data should be reviewed for those conditions.
