This 80 Shore A nitrile hammer union seal ring is specified with a matching brass or stainless steel backing configuration. Confirm the NBR compound code, hardness tolerance and test requirements on the order; hardness alone does not determine pressure capability or fluid compatibility.
Match the union manufacturer, figure, nominal connection size and seal drawing before replacement. Lip profile, groove dimensions and backing geometry must correspond to the identified union. Brass and stainless steel backing options require separate confirmation rather than substitution based on appearance.
NBR suitability depends on the actual fluid and temperature. FKM, HNBR and PTFE are separate material or construction options; sour-gas service requires compound and equipment-specific qualification.
