- Repeated insertion can affect the hole edge and sealing contact. Define cycle count, insertion force and acceptable wear rather than assuming a universal wear-resistance rating.

Compression Molding:
Compression molding cures rubber under heat and pressure in a shaped mold. Agree whether the single hole is molded or processed afterward, and specify acceptable flash, edge finish and dimensional inspection.

1. How do I choose the single-hole diameter?
Start with the measured tube or probe outside diameter and its tolerance. Specify whether the fit should grip the component or allow removal, and provide the insertion depth.
Confirm the fit on a sample assembly; rubber hardness, hole finish and component surface all influence insertion force.
2. What matters for repeated insertion?
a. State the expected insertion and removal cycle count.
b. Provide the component surface finish and any sharp edges.
c. Agree acceptable hole-edge damage and permanent deformation.
d. Specify permitted assembly aids and cleaning residues.
e. Define acceptable insertion and withdrawal forces.

3. Is every silicone stopper suitable for heat or chemical exposure?
