Custom Black Plastic Thread Protectors — Part Marking and Repeat-Order Fit
Custom black pin and box thread protectors are specified with the pipe connection drawing, nominal size and protector profile. Include the part reference, drawing revision and required thread and seal-area coverage so repeat orders can use the same approved design.
Choose HDPE or ABS as a separate grade and define color, molded or printed markings and packing requirements. Black color does not establish weathering or impact performance; agree the material and fit acceptance criteria for the handling and storage duty.

Plastic thread protectors help shield pipe connections during transport and storage. Confirm pin or box end, thread engagement, overall dimensions and removal features against the mating connection. A protector is not a pressure closure or lifting attachment.
For repeat replacement, verify the connection designation and drawing revision before using an existing sample. Inspect worn or damaged protectors before reuse; a similar outer shape does not establish thread compatibility.
Plastic and metal-plastic composite designs require separate construction specifications. Identify the required design and material grade with the part number rather than assuming one protector type can replace another.
Connection references may include tubing, casing and drill-pipe sizes, NC or REG designations and BTC, STC or LTC threads. State the exact family, size and pin/box end; these are separate profiles. Proprietary connections require their matching drawing and fit confirmation.
