Custom Injection-Molded Plastic Threaded Pipe End Caps
Custom injection-molded plastic threaded end caps cover matching pipe threads during transport and storage. Define the mating thread and cap geometry on the drawing, including engagement length, seating position and end coverage. HDPE and ABS are alternative material references; select the approved grade for the application.
A custom cap needs the pipe family, complete connection designation and pin or box orientation. Specify whether the required geometry is open, vented or closed rather than inferring closure from the end-cap name. Any ingress or sealing requirement needs its own design criteria and verification.
All-plastic and metal-plastic composite protectors require separate construction specifications. For an injection-molded cap, review dimensional tolerances, molded engagement and installation/removal requirements. A photograph or nominal size alone cannot establish the matching thread or a pressure rating.
Drawing information: pipe connection, pin/box end, thread profile, cap depth, engagement, seating clearance, coverage, material grade and quantity. The broader 2-3/8 to 20 inch size range, NC/REG drill pipe references and BTC/STC/LTC casing references require separate fit and availability review for each custom item.
