Product Description
Buna-N hammer union rings use nitrile rubber (NBR) as the sealing material for the specified union connection. The ring seals against the mating recess when the union is correctly assembled. Confirm the equipment manufacturer, union figure and ring cross-section for replacement orders; a hammer union ring is selected by its connection geometry, rather than by the general term oil seal.
For a Buna replacement ring, provide the fluid composition, operating temperature and required Shore A hardness together with the part dimensions. Rubber colour does not identify the compound or hardness. Where HNBR is required by the equipment specification, treat it as a separately specified material and confirm suitability before substitution. Figure references such as 602, 1002, 1502, 2002 and 2202 require a matching part drawing, and pressure limits belong to the complete rated union assembly.
