Injection Custom Plastic Products PEEK Plastic Peek Filtters Long Life
Custom Injection-Moulded PEEK Filter Parts — Flow Geometry and Service-Life Requirements
For a custom PEEK filter component, distinguish the support, housing or spacer from the filtering medium itself. Provide bore, flow openings, wall thickness, mounting and sealing dimensions on the drawing. Specify resin grade, operating fluid and pressure differential so the moulded component can be reviewed for fit and service conditions.
Some of Peek’s material properties:
=> Chemical resistance: Chemical compatibility must be checked for the exact fluid, concentration, exposure time and temperature. Include cleaning chemicals and mixed-fluid service; do not treat all PEEK grades as universally resistant.
=>Long life:Filter-part service life depends on fluid exposure, pressure cycles, cleaning, loading and the component geometry. Agree inspection and replacement criteria rather than assigning a lifetime from the PEEK material name.
=>Hydrolysis resistance:For hot-water or steam exposure, specify pressure, temperature, cycle duration and the required dimensional retention. Validate the selected grade and finished geometry for that duty.
=>High temperature resistance: Set normal and peak temperatures together with mechanical load and exposure duration. Material data alone do not establish the finished component temperature rating.
| Available Technology: | Injection moulding to tooling and drawing; machined prototypes specified separately |
| Available Material | PEEK, with unfilled or filled grade specified; alternative polymers require separate selection |
| Color | Natural or black as specified for the approved resin grade |
| Equipments | 12sets injection machines +8 sets CNC machines |
The common PEEK material options:
1) Unfilled PEEK: specify the resin grade, stock form and required dimensional properties.
2) Glass-filled PEEK: identify filler content and review machining orientation, mating surfaces and electrical requirements using grade-specific data.
3) Bearing-grade PEEK: specify the grade and additives for the intended sliding contact. Review counterface finish, lubrication, speed and load; a bearing-grade designation does not establish interchangeable performance.
4) Food-contact PEEK: compliance requires the applicable regulation and documentation for the specific grade and intended conditions of use.
Application of the PEEK products:
Application examples require separate grade and finished-part qualification:
1) Aerospace:
Aerospace components require the drawing, material specification and applicable qualification evidence. An industrial PEEK part should not be substituted solely on polymer name.
2) Filter Manufacturing:
Biodiesel fuel filters: For biodiesel filter parts, include fuel blend, additives, temperature and cleaning exposure. Review the chosen resin grade and sealing interfaces; specify filtration efficiency separately for the complete filter.
Membrane spacer-battery: For a battery spacer, specify geometry, insulation requirements and exposure to the exact electrolyte. Film thickness and porosity are separate specifications from CNC-machined parts.
Vacuum belt filters:For vacuum filtration, define whether the part supports the medium, controls flow or forms a housing. Provide vacuum and pressure cycles, chemical exposure, openings and cleaning method. Validate flow and dimensional retention in the intended assembly.
3) Healthcare:
Implant applications require an appropriate medical grade and device-specific qualification. This industrial product listing does not establish implant suitability or biocompatibility.
For dialysis equipment components, material selection requires the device specification, cleaning or sterilization process and applicable qualification documentation.
4) Food and Beverage:
Food drying:For food drying equipment, specify contact conditions, temperature cycles and dimensional requirements. Confirm grade-specific food-contact documentation before use.
Feed drying: For feed drying equipment, specify heat exposure, loading and cleaning conditions. Agree wear and dimensional acceptance criteria for the actual component.
5) Chemical and Pharmaceutical:
For chemical or pharmaceutical equipment components, supply process and cleaning fluids, temperature cycles, tolerances and contamination-control requirements. Grade selection and finished-part acceptance must be reviewed for the specified duty.
