Hammer Union O-Rings, Lip Seals and Metal-Backed Replacement Rings
Identify the seal profile and mating union hardware before ordering
-Nitrile/NBR, HNBR or FKM compound selection depends on the fluid and temperature. H2S service requires compound-specific qualification; the polymer name alone does not establish sour-service suitability.
-Specify union manufacturer, figure, nominal line size and seal drawing; different figures are not automatically interchangeable
-Circular-section O-rings: specify AS568 dash number or metric inner diameter and cross-section
-Lip seal rings: specify lip profile, groove dimensions and orientation
-Brass-backed seal rings: specify insert geometry, grade and rubber construction
-Stainless-steel-backed seal rings: specify insert grade, geometry and mating groove
For an AS568 O-ring enquiry, provide the dash number, compound, hardness tolerance and required dimensional inspection. Custom profiles and packaging are specified separately.
Figure 1502 references in the existing range include 1, 1-1/2, 2, 3 and 4 inch nominal line sizes. Confirm the particular hardware maker, groove dimensions and seal part number. This description does not establish API certification or conformity: specify the applicable standard, edition and required supporting tests for review.

Pressure limits require the complete union or gland design and qualification. An O-ring or metal-backed seal does not carry an independent universal pressure rating.
Specify any dimensional, hardness, bonding and batch-document requirements with the order.
