1: Select the NBR compound for the actual fluid and temperature. A thin PTFE coating does not establish a chemical-resistance or weathering rating for the complete seal. 2: Specify installation-force and friction requirements with the mating finish, lubrication and assembly method; validate on coated samples. 3: Black or blue coating can identify agreed batches or specifications. Color alone does not identify hardness or NBR compound grade. 4: Define coating coverage, adhesion and acceptable defects. Check final coated cross-section against gland squeeze and clearance requirements. |

For PTFE-coated NBR O-ring enquiries, identify the base compound and nominal Shore A hardness. A 90 Shore A requirement applies to the rubber substrate and must be agreed with its tolerance and test method.
Send ring inner diameter and cross-section, gland dimensions, fluid, operating temperature, pressure and motion. Include coating thickness, color, masking and assembly requirements so the coated ring can be reviewed as a complete sealing part.
