How to specify the cable-head boot?
Material and functional requirements:
* Specify nominal Shore A hardness and tolerance; the compound and fit must suit installation and service.
* Identify fluids, cleaning agents, temperature and exposure to outdoor conditions.
For flexing or cable movement, provide bend radius, movement cycle and required retention or strain-relief checks on the assembly.
Specify color, permissible flash, packaging, labels and drawing revision.
* Electrical insulation or water and dust protection require explicit acceptance criteria and assembly testing.
Approve the boot sample on the actual cable and fitting before production; rubber material alone does not establish an electrical or ingress-protection rating.
